Ministry Focus

Job Skills Program:  For years we have provided job development and opportunities for adults in the CSRA. Many in our community are motivated to work but are not given the opportunity for one reason or another.

Harrisburg Homes Project:  We are committed to building 20 new homes to accommodate 4 foster children and a host family.  The foster care program in Georgia is severely underserved with so many children living by themselves in hotel rooms across the state.

History of Fireside

Founded in 1992 by Phin and Jan Hitchcock, Fireside Ministries began serving Augusta's urban community.  Phin closed his nursery business and began sharing the Gospel while planting gardens in Augusta's public housing.  From there the job skills program was started and Fireside became a key partner for sister ministries like Heritage Academy, Kingdom Here, Turn Back the Block, and many others across the CSRA.

Today - Phin and Jan are joined in ministry by their son.  While they continue to be fully involved in all Fireside's ministry efforts, as Executive Director,  Chris will bring business development, marketing and leadership experience that will allow Fireside to build and manage the needed foster homes.
